You’re just lucky enough to get two songs today. I have loved Hot Chip since I was a junior in high school, so I’m really excited for their new album to come out in June. I’m even more excited to see them at the Pitchfork Music Festival on July 14, but more on that later.

I always wondered how my less-than-clean mouth developed. Apparently it came from what I was reading from the ages of 14 and up. Yes, during my “teen years” (hey, I’m almost allowed to be that pretentious ageist; I’m turning 20 in four days), I was all about the young adult lit (and honestly still am from time to time), and according to this article, this is why f-bombs started dropping from my mouth more and more frequently. I’ll admit, I read every Gossip Girl book and every other piece of trash during my time in junior high and high school. During those formative years (7th grade was such an important time, guys) is when I developed the mouth of a sailor, but was I really only doing so just so I could try to be like Blair Waldorf ? Not necessarily (although I did indulge in a lot of preppy fashion back then because of her).  Still, this article makes a point. While reading is always great (and I’ll battle anyone who suggests otherwise), maybe what I was reading during that time wasn’t so great for my vocabulary.

Is anyone else really excited for this? It’s kind of an odd combination, but I expect nothing less from SNL. Don’t forget to watch (or DVR) the season finale tomorrow.
